Golf Solitaire: learn through an example

Keep the active rule in mind. Remove all 35 tableau cards. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. Begin with the objective. Take an exposed bottom card one rank above or below the waste top, allowing ace–king wrapping. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear.

Seven columns of five, one stock pass. Free solo play, no wagering.

Practice beyond the first move

Begin with the objective. Tap exposed cards that satisfy the removal rule shown above. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

  1. Take an exposed bottom card one rank above or below the waste top, allowing ace–king wrapping.
  2. Tap exposed cards that satisfy the removal rule shown above.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Getting comfortable with the controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. For a calm first round, focus on one decision.

An example before you play

Waste queen accepts jack or king. Use another round to revisit a decision.

A useful caution

Begin with the objective. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Use another round to revisit a decision.
